Multiple Teams · Carlos Artis to lead the Boys Basketball Program

Mesquite High School is proud to have Carlos Artis as the new Head Boys Basketball Coach.

Carlos was one of the top high school athletes to play basketball in the state of Arizona. He was recently named the 15th best athlete to ever play in the State of Arizona. He was the state’s all time leading scorer in 1991, the Player of the Year in 1990 and 1991, Male Athlete of the Year, Nike All American and McDonald’s All American, and also also a member of the 1991 team who won the National Championship for the State of Arizona for High School Basketball. In addition to his basketball career, he was also a Parade All American in Football. He made All Arizona and All State as well. Carlos also won the State Championship in Track in the 400m. Carlos played football and basketball at Arizona State University from 1991-1995.

Carlos currently serves as the Head Varsity Assistant at Campo Verde High. He also is the owner and director of Team Artis which has over 14 teams ranging from developmental/flight teams to elite teams with athletes from 2nd grade to high school.

All things are possible, if you believe” is the motto that we will live by and has been a great example throughout my life!” Carlos believes its important for every athlete to have integrity and to be honest at all times. It is important that every athlete conducts himself in a respectable manner at all times. Carlos place a high importance on education and he want to see every young man make it in life and live up to his abilities.
